Julia Giolzetti was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She began taking acting and singing classes at 8 years old. She attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where she received a BFA in Theatre.  At Tisch, Julia studied with the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. After graduation, she booked a principal role in a Bank of America commercial.

Julia worked Off-Off-Broadway, including new and classic works at Theater for the New City, HERE Arts Center, American Theatre of Actors, Workshop Theatre & the Players Theatre in her 12 years in NYC. Her work in the world premiere of "PINK!" was nominated for a New York Innovative Theatre Award. She was a member of the Tempest Ladies, an all-female company which toured Istanbul, Turkey with their role-switching Macbeth and Tempest. Her most recent long-term acting job was performing Off-Broadway (and occasionally whilst drunk) as a member of the Drunk Shakespeare Society. 394 shows and a lot of Advil later, Julia has relocated to San Diego.

Since moving back home, Julia has acted at the Old Globe through the Playwrights Project, at the Coronado Playhouse, and Scripps Ranch Theatre. She has worked as a teaching artist through Playwrights Project, Character Kids and The Theatre School @ North Coast Rep and performs Shakespeare in schools with Intrepid Theatre Company. She enjoys cuddling with her daughter Rosalind, pup Baxter and husband Jason, chocolate chip cookies, and writing in the third person.
